Are there any good games for Linux?

Linux is not a very popular platform for gaming, and most gamers prefer Windows. But there are also good game choices for Linux users. A few years ago, Valve released a version of Steam for Linux. Since then there are a lot of options for Linux gamers. Here is a list of good games for Linux.

Left 4 Dead 2

L4D2 is the sequel to the #1 co-op game of 2008. It is set during an apocalyptic pandemic. The four main characters fight against zombies, who are called “the infected.” Their goal is to escape, through each of the four different campaigns.

Deux Ex: Mankind Divided

An action RPG game centered around the main character, Adam Jensen. It is full of quests and conversations, that center around the main story (unveiling a worldwide conspiracy). You have to gain experience and upgrade your main character.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

It’s a multiplayer first-person shooter game. It’s widely known as “CS:GO.” It’s an expansion of the original Counter-Strike that was released 19 years ago. Two teams play against each other. The objective is to eliminate the other side while also completing side objectives. This version has new game modes, maps, weapons, and characters.

HITMAN – Game of the Year Edition

In this thrilling game, you play as Agent 47 from the popular franchise. Travel around the world and eliminate your targets in all kinds of ways. You can use anything from a sniper to an expired spaghetti sauce. This edition of the game features all locations and missions from the first Hitman season, three new weapons, outfits, and themed contracts and “Patient Zero” Bonus campaign.

Rocket League

It’s a mixture of soccer and rocket-powered vehicles, that has easy controls and flowing competition. You can play it both online and offline. There is also a cross-platform option so that you can play across all versions. New modes for hockey and basketball were released in later updates.

Minecraft

It is a sandbox video game in which you have to build with different blocks in a 3D-generated world. You can also gather resources, craft items, and do combat. It has multiple game modes. The game is the #2 most sold game in the world (30 million copies, source : https://wondercraft.net/).

XCOM 2

A turn-based tactics video game. It is set in the future of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, which had been invaded by aliens and your task is to command the opposition force and save it. XCOM 2 has new features that its predecessor Enemy Unknown didn’t like faster combat and secondary objectives.

Dota 2

It’s a sequel to the original and very popular DotA (a community-created mod for Blizzard’s Warcraft III). There are two teams of five players each, defending their side of the map. Each player controls a “hero” (over 100 to choose from). Throughout the match, you collect experience points and gold to upgrade your hero’s items. You have to successfully defeat the other team in PVP combat and destroy their “Ancient”(central structure).
